The transition from kitten food to adult food happens when your cat has almost reached adulthood.
So when exactly is your cat considered an 'adult'?
In general, we can assume the following:
Breed |
Adult weight |
Average adult age |
Regular breed |
< 5 kg | 12 months |
Large breed |
> 5 kg | 18-24 months |
If your cat has reached adulthood, it doesn't need all that extra fuel packed in kitten food. Therefore, switching to adult food is needed to maintain a healthy diet.
You will also see that the recommended daily amounts for your kitten are no longer stated on the packaging when you have to switch to food for adult cats.
How to switch from kitten food to adult cat food?
You will see a decrease in the recommended daily amounts for adult cats compared to the amounts for kittens. This is because adult cats have a lower calorie requirement than kittens. That is why we recommend to switch gradually to our adult cat food in 7 days.
In terms of flavours, you can choose from our extensive range for adult cats.
